Rhinoplasty

40_rhinoplastyFaces are symphonies where the eyes, lips, and brows all play an important part in the overall composition. But, as with all art, there is a core upon which the parts depend to create “harmony.”

With the face, this center and its most prominent feature is the nose; and its size and shape can dramatically affect your overall appearance. It is no wonder, then, that rhinoplasty is one of the most frequently performed facial rejuvenation procedures for people of all ages.

Noses can be Romanesque, aquiline, upturned, pug, etc.; the only constant is that each one is unique and the key to a successful rhinoplasty is insuring that the nose “blends” with your particular facial structure to achieve a natural, proportional look. If this all sounds like an artistic endeavor that is because great rhinoplasty re-quires a special combination of surgical skill and aesthetic sense. It is this unique, but essential, combination that Dr. Nima brings to the surgical table.

Our Surgical Rhinoplasty Procedures include: Revision Rhinoplasty , Deviated Septum/Septoplasty , Functional Rhinoplasty  and we also offer Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Procedures.

The possible reasons someone seeks rhinoplasty are varied: a broken nose, debilitating breathing problems, correcting previous nasal augmentation, or simply wishing to improve your overall appearance. Whatever the reason, it is personal to you and, therefore, it is personal to us. Our patients deserve and receive careful and caring analysis and exceptional surgical skill. It is our mission to make the journey as comfortable and understandable as possible with a satisfying result.

Toward that end, Dr. Nima is available for one-on-one, in-office consults about Rhinoplasty/Revision Rhinoplasty. During your consult, Dr. Nima will take the time to understand your particular reason for seeking surgery, address any concerns and questions that you may have and discuss setting realistic goals for your procedure. At the same time, you will be introduced to our state-of-the-art computer imaging program, which provides an excellent visual tool for previewing possible results.

WHO IS A CANDIDATE?

All individuals over the age of 13, are eligible for, and may consider, Rhinoplasty.

Teenagers, for example, when physically and emotionally mature enough, may benefit from the procedure. A study, entitled, “The Psychological Effects of Rhinoplasty,” has been cited by the New York Times and People magazine. It confirms that teens receive significant benefits from rhinoplasty, psychologically and socially, by helping to create a positive self-image.

Of course, the psychological benefits extend to adults, both men and women, as well.

No matter the age or gender, a candidate’s emotional and physical readiness for our services will be carefully evaluated by Dr. Nima, in consultation with the patient, prior to undertaking any procedure.

SURGICAL PROCEDURE

With a unique understanding of his patients’ hopes and fears, Dr. Nima has spent years perfecting his surgical technique to achieve the best results with the minimum amount of discomfort and downtime for the patient. He meticulously re-crafts nasal structure through careful modification of bone and cartilage, enabling him to firmly secure the components. This process completely eliminates the need for uncomfortable nasal packing which significantly reduces post-operative discomfort, bruising and swelling and helps avoid post-surgery difficulties in breathing.

What all of this means for the patient, is that – within approximately seven days after undergoing the procedure – most of our patients can return to their regular lives.

RECOVERY

So what is in store for the patient during the initial week of recovery?

Immediately after surgery, a dressing is applied. Again, no nasal packing is necessary, making the recovery a more comfortable one. Some temporary swelling and bruising around the eyes can occur, and often resolve after a week. The dressing is removed within about a week, at which time most patients can also return to their normal activities. More strenuous activities will need to be avoided for about two to three weeks. Patients can also expect 80-90% of the swelling to go down within 2-4 weeks and the final result will become apparent within six months.

Testimonial

“What a wonderful office! From day one, they were friendly and attentive.

Dr. Shemirani listened to what I wanted, was patient and answered all my questions.

Neda was extremely helpful and accommodating.

Taylor and Monica were always the sweetest and lovely.

When it came to my actual surgery, I was nervous, but reassured because of such an amazing team. I knew they were the ones to do my nose because it was so important to me that I looked like me with a new, natural nose… They made sure that would happen.

Dr. Shemirani is an amazing surgeon. It took little time to recover and they provided wonderful instructions to heal. Now that I am 1 month out, I want to sing his name from the roof tops (figuratively). I love my new nose. It doesn’t look like a fake, manipulated nose. It looks like the one I should have been born with. I feel beautiful and enjoy the person I see in the mirror. It was a great decision and I am beyond satisfied. I am so happy I listened to the dr. and chose someone as skilled to make my desire become a reality.” – Alyx C. (Yelp)
