Patient 1
This young woman had an elongated earring hole due to wearing heavy earrings. It even caused a protrusion in her earlobe, which gave it a slightly unnatural look. Dr. Nima performed a Z-plasty, which is a well-placed incision within the earring hole, to close it so that the visible incision is very minimal. Most plastic surgeons just excise the earring hole, which shows very little difference in the before and after, but as you can see here normal skin is recruited for a better outcome and look.
Patient 2
This young woman had an elongated earring hole that almost tore all the way through. She underwent Z-plasty repair of the earring hole, showing a better outcome and the earring hole closed. She was able to get her ear pierced six weeks after the procedure.
Patient 3
This young woman had an elongated earring hole that was stretched out by wearing too heavy earrings. A Z-plasty was performed to close this and bring normal skin into the area. Here, she is shown six months after surgery.
