We have all heard the phrase “one and done.” Unfortunately, with rhinoplasty that isn’t always the case.
At Eos Rejuvenation, we understand the anxiety involved in requiring a revision to a previous rhinoplasty. After all, you have just gone through the physical discomfort, emotional drain and significant cost of a previous surgery only to be dissatisfied. Scheduling a “rhinoplasty take 2” is almost assuredly not on your bucket list, especially when you’re unsure you will get the results you set out to achieve in the first place.
At Eos Rejuvenation, we understand and we are focused on allaying these concerns with a revision rhinoplasty that is only undertaken after we’re satisfied that your anxieties have been thoroughly addressed. Furthermore, Dr. Nima has developed a particular specialty in fixing the issues with previous rhinoplasties. Thus, to say that the likelihood your happiness and satisfaction with the post-revision results will increase, is an understatement.
As with all procedures performed in our office, the first step involves meeting with Dr. Nima. Patients visit with Dr. Nima for a complimentary, initial consultation, where he will thoroughly review your issues, goals and options. He will have photos taken of your nose and use state-of-the-art imaging software to demonstrate possible outcomes with various before and after scenarios. Additionally, Dr. Nima will carefully review your medical history and any paperwork you may have related to one or more previous rhinoplasties he will be revising.
The most important thing to Dr. Nima is that you feel completely comfortable before proceeding. And if, for some reason, you still have questions or concerns after this initial meeting, our staff is always available via phone or in person to further address any issues and put you at ease.
There are generally three categories of revisional rhinoplasty: aesthetic (to improve appearance), functional (to improve breathing, decrease snoring, or otherwise alleviate nasal discomfort), or a combination of both. Each category involves a different approach.
Aesthetic revision rhinoplasty is the more common of the two. For some, an initial rhinoplasty left their nose too pinched or crooked, or a hump may not have been satisfactorily alleviated. In such instances, a revision will focus on building the nose back up. We will replace missing cartilage and give the nose more support.
With functional revision rhinoplasty, our focus is on ensuring that your nose works the way nature intended it to. As one might expect, there are a variety of reasons for problems with proper nasal functionality. Examples include a trauma suffered while healing or a previous surgery (especially reductive procedures performed far in the past), which failed to properly heal.
In these and other instances, during your procedure, cartilage – most likely harvested from inside your own nasal cavity, but sometimes from your ear or ribs – will be utilized to reinforce the nose, to correct asymmetries, or to otherwise alleviate imperfections.
Dr. Nima has eliminated the uncomfortable nasal packing many patients have come to expect post-rhinoplasty. Instead, he utilizes a cast that rests on the bridge of the nose to protect it during the first week. Overall, revision rhinoplasty initially takes 7 – 14 days to heal.
That said, with many rhinoplasties, after the most visible signs of surgery – such as swelling and bruising – have healed, less visible surgical trauma may take longer to heal. This is primarily due to the presence of scar tissue. As a general rule, this secondary healing period may last up to a year. Every patient has their own unique issues, and all of them will be addressed before your surgery.
Dr. Nima and our staff are available every step of the way for follow up visits, questions, and/or any other concerns or needs you may have. It is always our goal is to make this process as comfortable as possible for you and ultimately to see you completely satisfied.

“I recently had a rhinoplasty revision as well as a correction of my deviated septum. After two botched attemps by other doctors Dr Shemirani finally got it right. His bedside manner and staff were excellent. I felt the process from beginning to end was concierge treatment. I could not have asked for a better experience, especially comparing it to the first two times. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is in need of nasal surgery. I am planning on going back to him in the near future for some other things and am looking forward to the results as well.” – Donna K. (Yelp)View More Testimonials
